A Buffalo, NY girl turned Cajun Queen.

 

I'm the founder of CarlaMedia LLC, a media company based in New Orleans. I create digital and social media content for various national and local food/beverage brands and businesses. I also have 10+ years of TV production being a news anchor/reporter & food personality (Carla's Kitchen segment) with NBC & ABC affiliates. I competed in MasterChef Season 13 on Fox, representing Buffalo, NY as the first Buffalo native to compete in MasterChef kitchen. I judge and emcee food festivals like: New Orleans Poboy Festival, National Fried Chicken Festival and Denver BBQ Festival---to name a few. 

 

My passion for curiosity started at a very young age when I began creating videos. I turned that passion of storytelling into my career. I love traveling, learning new cultures, meeting new people and telling those stories along the way. I moved to Chicago for college where I earned a Broadcast Journalism for TV degree at Columbia College Chicago. 

 

I'm an award-winning journalist who has worked many roles in TV news: reporter, weather anchor, traffic anchor, news anchor and host. Previously, I was the Morning News Anchor at the ABC affiliate in New Orleans (WGNO), the Morning Weather/Traffic Anchor at the NBC affiliate in Baton Rouge, Louisiana (WVLA),  and started my career as the Morning News/Weather Anchor at the NBC affiliate in Joplin, Missouri (KSN16).

 

At all three stations, I took my love of food to create a weekly restaurant segment. In each episode, I showcase a local hidden gem restaurant in the area (Carla's Kitchen, Four State Finds and Carla's Menu). Also, I produced a live cooking segment called “What’s Carla Cooking?” on KSN Local News Today.

 

I love embracing the Southeast Louisiana culture. Catch me checking out new restaurants around town and judging the amazing food festivals New Orleans has to offer.
